As pro bono pioneers in Brazil, Mattos Filho has provided legal assistance free of charge to cases in the public interest and with social impacts for the past 24 years. We are committed to improving access to justice and to defending and promoting human rights in the country.
In 2023, a public-private cooperation agreement between Mattos Filho 100% Pro Bono practice and the São Paulo State Public Defender’s Office entered its fourth year. This collaboration has yielded significant results for society, particularly in regard to custody hearings and support for women who have faced domestic violence.
To commemorate this milestone, our partner Flavia Regina Oliveira recorded a conversation with Florisvaldo Antonio Fiorentino Júnior, former Chief Public Defender of the State of São Paulo (2020-2022, 2022-2024).
Watch a teaser of their conversation below, or click here to watch it in full.
