Scholarships & Mentoring

In October, Instituto Mattos Filho held its 2025 Scholarship Meeting to offer direct and indirect scholarships to law students, as well as career mentoring with Mattos Filho’s partners. Rômulo Sampaio, a partner from the firm’s Environmental Law & Climate Change practice, was a keynote speaker at the event.

Indirect scholarships

Intended for the following institutions: USP Law School (Alumni Association), FGV São Paulo Law School (Endowment), Insper Law School – São Paulo, FGV Rio de Janeiro Law School (Esperança Garcia Scholarship), and to the organizations Programa Continuar (CEERT), Instituto Semear and Instituto Sol.

7th Access to Justice Challenge

Organized in partnership with the Brazilian consultancy ponteAponte, the Access to Justice Challenge aims to recognize and encourage initiatives for their efforts to improve access to justice and contribute to civic responsibility, democracy and human rights in Brazil. In 2025, the seventh edition of the Access to Justice Challenge registered 128 projects, with five organizations receiving prizes.

Disseminating Knowledge of the Law –
Legal Careers Guide Project

Organized by Instituto Mattos Filho in partnership with Brazilian NGOs Civicus and Politize!, this program looks to democratize access to information about possible career trajectories in the legal sector. Content is provided in multiple formats and organized into five lines to guide students and interested parties on areas of expertise, ways to enter the legal sector, career prospects, and market trends.

This initiative is still ongoing and has already reached more than 10,000 users. Completion is scheduled for 2026.
